Practice Team
With the changing face of dentistry we make it our core policy to continuing professional development and training of our dentists, hygienist, nurses and receptionists.

Principal Dentist
Jo Daly BDS DGDP (uk) RCS

I qualified at Newcastle University in 1980 and established Springs Dental Studio in 1982. I gained the Diploma in General Dental Practice in 1993. I am interested in all aspects of dental care and believe that good oral hygiene is the basis of a perfect smile and therefore encourage all clients to see our hygienist Emma Fraser.

I have worked in the past in the orphanages of Romania, on the riverside in Nepal and now am involved with Burkina Faso in West Africa helping with a dental clinic and have an interest in a school there. I support the charity Dentaid which delivers oral care to the third world and have done a cycle ride in America and trekked the Great Wall of China for this. I conquered Kilimanjaro in 2006 for Hope and Homes for Children after seeing the problems in Romania.

I trekked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in April this year

I am available to give talks about Dentaid and its works to any interested groups

Associate Dentist
Peter Throw BChD

Hello, my name is Peter and I have work as a dentist at Springs Dental Studio. I have done so for the past 6 years, which has given me a great opportunity to get to know plenty of familiar faces. I enjoy meeting new patients and helping them overcome their dental anxieties.

In my spare time enjoy running, watching films and playing on the x-box but most of all I love spending time with my wife Claire and our baby daughter Abigail.

Hygienist
Emma Fraser EDH

I initially joined Springs Dental Practice as a trainee dental nurse in 1992, I then went on to Leeds Dental Hospital to train for 2 years towards my dental nursing qualification, which I passed with a distinction. A short while later I decided that I would like to become a hygienist and completed my 2 year diploma in dental hygiene at Newcastle Dental Hospital. I then rejoined Springs in 1997 as a newly qualified dental hygienist.

I now work solely for Springs Dental Studio after the birth of my little girl, working 3 ½ days a week. I have seen many positive changes in the practice over the years and thoroughly enjoy working in this warm friendly environment.

I am married to Gary and we have a lovely daughter called Erin. My interests include regular workouts in body attack and body pump classes as well as socialising, reading and family time.

We don’t mind going to the dentist! Whoever thought going to the dentist could be something pleasant? Well, we have found this to be so! Dr Jo Daly and her team of caring dental professionals are a delight to work with. Highly applied and efficient, they have made the whole dental experience from routine hygiene matters and fillings through to the more complex work of crowns and cosmetic dentistry, something we don’t mind at all! This is what we have found:

  • A pleasant team of workers
  • A nice environment
  • Appointments always on time
  • Never feeling uncomfortable when being worked on
